Craftsmanship is the ultimate goal that all good engineers crave for. Craftsmanship delivers a “high”, it goes beyond “just doing the work”. Becoming a craftsman is a *very personal aspect* that requires one to reflect deeply into one’s work, be continually inspired by *other* disciplines. As a test professional, I have been constantly striving to become a craftsman and it has been a never ending journey. Nevertheless the journey is rewarding and gives me the “high”.
Over the years, I have been inspired from other disciplines – people from other walks of life, and other interesting non-engineering activities. Some of the inspirations have come from doctors, my dog, Sherlock Holmes, Japanese etc.
