What is a PDT?

Potential Defect Type (PDT) is a set of Potential Defect (PD – A possible problem/issue that could exist in the software application) grouped into a category. This is based on an HyBIST core concept “Defect centricity principle”.

Hypothesizing PDT is done by considering the various aspects (Data, Behavior/Business Logic, Internal structure, External environment and Usage of the EUT) of EUT along the three views of Input(Error  injection), Inherent (Fault proneness), Output (Failure) and then asking the questions to come up with PDTs.

PDT identification is based on TWO core concepts of HyBIST (Negative thinking & EFF Model that is based on Aspects & Views)
